LynX lite Privacy Policy
Last revised: 15 September 2026
The purpose of this privacy statement is to be transparent about the processing of data within the company Unmatched BV, owner of LynX Lite. This statement is intended to inform visitors about our policy regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when using the application. Unmatched BV has developed the LynX Lite app as a free app. This service is offered free of charge by Unmatched BV and is intended for use “as is”.
If you choose to use our service, you agree to the collection and use of data in accordance with this policy. The personal data collected is used to provide and improve the service. Data will not be used or shared with third parties, except as described in this privacy policy.
The terms used in this privacy policy have the same meaning as in our General Terms and Conditions, which can be found on LynX Lite, unless otherwise defined in this privacy policy.
Identity of the data controller
The company Unmatched, located at Durmelaan 7a, 9880 Aalter, is a data controller within the meaning of Article 4 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Its company number is BE 0740.580.152. You can reach the controller by email at info@unmatched.be or by post. The application is owned and managed by Unmatched. It is also possible to contact the DPO directly (dpo@unmatched.be).
What personal data is processed?
The processing of data by the data controller is subject to the applicable Belgian legislation on the protection of privacy and the European General Data Protection Regulation. Exactly which data is processed depends on your capacity. Below is an overview.
Users of the LynX® Client on Smartphone app
The app itself does not, in principle, process personal data, with the exception of the following points of attention:
- Contacts are synchronised from the server to the device so that they are available in the device's contact book;
- The device's location may be used when triggering an alarm, which is necessary for the operation of the application: when you activate an alarm via the app, your device's location is requested and sent to the server. This information is forwarded to the care provider so that help can be provided more quickly.
Your location data is never stored;
- The alarm notifications received may in some cases contain personal data of third parties, strongly depending on the configuration on the server. The legal basis for this processing is the public interest and the proper functioning of the system on the one hand, or the user's consent on the other;
- Log data: this data may include information such as your device's Internet Protocol address (“IP address”), the device name, the operating system version, the app's configuration while using our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.
Sharing personal data with third parties
Unmatched only provides data to third parties where this is necessary for the proper functioning of the LynX Lite application, based on your consent, or to comply with a legal obligation. External service providers may be engaged to facilitate the service, to analyse how the application is used, and to support its general proper functioning. These parties may have access to personal data where this is necessary for carrying out their assignment; the legal basis for this is the public interest and the proper functioning of the application.
For example:
- Analytics and technical service providers: for analysis purposes, we share certain technical data, such as device information (manufacturer, model, operating system version, etc.) and the app version.
How long is your data retained?
Data is not retained for longer than is strictly necessary for the proper functioning of the company. When a legal basis no longer exists, such as when consent is withdrawn, the data is deleted. The basis for this is a contract or a legitimate interest. The app's log data is stored locally on the device for 7 days. Once these logs are synchronised to the server, they may be retained there for longer, in accordance with the retention periods applicable to the server environment. These logs are retained solely for traceability purposes.
What are the purposes of this processing?
Data is processed as part of the company's operational and commercial activities. The basis for this is a contract or a legitimate interest.
Data is also processed as part of our core activities, namely the development and provision of LynX® Client on Smartphone, a custom-developed app for healthcare professionals that is part of LynX® Connect, an alert and communication platform that detects and generates alarm signals and allows care providers to receive and activate alarms, wherever they are. In the performance of the agreements concluded within these activities, data will be processed. The legal basis for this processing is therefore the agreement itself.
Furthermore, data is processed for communication purposes, such as sending information to existing or potential customers. Information also needs to be processed so that you can get in touch with one of our staff members. The legal basis for this processing is consent: by filling in the form on the website or by sharing your details in connection with participation in an event or a visit to a trade fair, you agree to the processing of that data by the company.
In addition, the processing of personal data is also required by a number of legal obligations, including tax and administrative regulations.
Data may be processed for security considerations, such as cybersecurity, for example.
In the context of marketing activities, data may be processed, including for compiling statistics and market research. Data may also be processed in the context of maintaining a business relationship. The legal basis is again the granting of consent for the personal data provided and a legitimate interest.
Automated decision-making
Unmatched does not make decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling, which produce legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affect you within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.

If your request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, in particular because of its repetitive nature, we reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee, taking into account the administrative costs involved.
Cookies?

This service does not explicitly use these 'cookies'. However, the app may use code and libraries from third parties that use 'cookies' to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to accept or refuse these cookies and to know when a cookie is sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use certain parts of this service.
What measures do we take to protect your data?
Unmatched takes various technical and organisational measures to safeguard the security of data at all times. Your data is carefully stored on a secure server. In addition, we carry out regular checks and provide appropriate training for our staff, so that they are always aware of the requirements for the correct and lawful processing of personal data within the applicable legal framework. Outdated or irrelevant data is deleted, as is data for which a legal basis no longer exists.
